Bus! WOW!

M's first love will always be "doggies" but her second is "BUS!"

She knows school buses, city buses, shuttle buses. If it's a bus she let's us know she sees it. And if she hears a bus, the same. We even found a bus book at the library that she loves to read over and over. What it is about the big yellow bus that she loves I don't know but I remember one day we were driving along and stopped next to a bus and the next thing I hear from the back seat is, "Bus! WOW!". That's become a phrase we smile at over and over again in our house.

So this is our tribute to the bus!

Crazy Piano Player (& Climber)

So our M has discovered that she can make herself get higher. Last week it started with getting on the piano keyboard so she could get at her toothbrush. Now she's climbing from the couch and into the window, or onto another table so she can reach a drawer, or using her push-cart to climb onto a table to reach something she wants...much to her detriment. I'm continually amazed that human children survive to adulthood. They sure are super cute though! How do you discipline when they're making you laugh at the same time?!

Fire! Hot! Fun!

The other night Daddy and I enjoyed s'mores after M went to bed. Then a few days later we let her join in the festivities. It was so funny! She couldn't sit still. She'd sit in her little chair. Then she'd come and sit by Mommy on the picnic table. Then she'd get down and start the whole process over again. She LOVED the fire! We ended up watching it from the trampoline as she insisted on jumping.

The Fridge!

M discovered she could get food whenever she wants. Sometimes you don't realize she's there because she fits in with the door almost closing. We've tried the fridge latch but it was cheap and broke so we need to get another. Recently, we've been trying time out (one minute in the bumbo). Today it was very quiet while I was vacuuming. I did M's room, the hall, the living room, and headed for the kitchen. I figured, "How nice, Daddy took M with him outside." WRONG! The minute I got in the kitchen I discovered why she was so quiet. She was in the fridge with her hand in a bowl of chocolate icing, eating to her heart's content!

Straight to the Bumbo!

P.S. Our bumbo is one of our thrift store treasures. 76 cents!

Last Ride of the Summer!

It's been fun out on the River this summer. M did get a little frantic each time we got to the dock but after we got going she'd be alright. This last time we just went out for a joy ride and then turned the boat off and watched the "air-panes" and "birds!" on the water, as well as an occasional tour bus on by the monuments. One of the many perks of Daddy's job is we could do this on a Friday morning!

One aside, Mommy was driving the boat trailer to the launch to meet Daddy and the boat. I stopped at the CVS to try and get some Sta-bil (which we'd forgotten at home) for the boat. Before I realized there was no exit I was pulled in. I said a very fervent prayer and Heavenly Father helped me back out the trailer! I know he answers prayers! We backed right out (slow and steady) but no jack-knifing or inability to do it.

Smelling the Roses

M has recently learned that things smell. She especially loves the flowers!

Scripture Power!

Luckily she didn't destroy them. She's fascinated by the big books with fine paper.
Hopefully she's just as enthusiastic once she learns to read.
