Precious Moments

Ok, so this is completely unrelated to this picture except for the fact that it's precious about M. Over a week ago we were in the grocery store and M was in a "car cart". You know them. They always ask for them. Well we get to check-out and something's not right so we have to wait while they do a price check. I was tired and somewhere in my waiting M left. I didn't notice until we were walking out and I started talking to her and went to park the cart and get her out and she wasn't there. I ran the cart back in (I do have a baby in an infant carrier) and told the manager. He started yelling orders to secure the front doors and just then M walks in the front doors on the other side. She'd gone to get a "blue one" instead of the "green one" we had. I was completely scared out of my wits and asked her why she "left Mommy" and let her know how scared I was. Well it must have made an impression because today right out of the blue she turns around and says, "Mommy sorry for scaring you in the bread store." (We'd run in to get a loaf of fresh sourdough for dinner). It's amazing to me how much they can soak up and process. It may take a while but the way she said it I know she was truly sorry and knew that it really had scared me. I love it when I can see M's true spirit underneath all the two-year-old craziness. She's going to be amazing when she grows up. She's going to be one of the most caring individuals I know.

P.S. We took this picture because she'd taken her sheet off and decided to just sleep on the mattress.

Heavenly Father Loves Me...still!

When we moved we lost a piece of hardware to our crib. I called and ordered a new part for $11.30 (this included $8 in shipping). Well the piece came last week in a yellow padded envelope. I didn't open the envelope and set it aside knowing exactly what it was. Well last Saturday we went to put the crib together and I couldn't find the envelope. I searched high and low. I hate losing things and this was driving me crazy. My fear was that I'd thrown it out in a flurry of cleaning. Our trash comes tomorrow so I knew I'd have to find it today or go through the trash. Well, in my prayers this morning I told Heavenly Father that I'd search all morning and that if I hadn't found it before M's nap I'd dive into the garbage. Well I put M down (F was already down) and went with gloves and tongs and trash bags out to the ant-infested garbage. Two miracles happened. (1) It's a gorgeous-cool day. We've had lots of warm days and I've been waiting for a hint of fall. and (2) It was in the FIRST bag I opened. Just more evidence that He does love me!!!

I love Shutterfly

M loves to borrow Mommy's camera. Every now and then she gets a good one. Here's a rare photo of me.

I just wanted to mention how much I love Shutterfly. I've been using them for my photo books and I've learned that I just have to be have a book ready and then be patient and wait for the best deal. Well this last week they've come through again and not only were they having a 20% off photo books sale but then they sent me a user-specific offer of an additional 15% off PLUS free shipping of orders over $40. 12x12 Photobooks are ALWAYS over $40. BUT with all the discounts I saved over $30 AND got 100 free 4x6 print credits. Not only that but they recently gave me a FREE 8x8 photobook (I did have to pay about $10 in shipping but hey, a $10 photobook is great). Not only that but our credit card rewards has Shutterfly gift cards! I love it when I can fund my hobby on the cheap!!!

I just got done ordering and just had to shout HURRAY!

No Time to Blog

Between unpacking (which Daddy's mostly doing) and watching the kids (which Mommy's mostly doing) there's no time to blog. So here's "more pictures", which is what the grandmas and aunts have been asking for anyway. Click on each picture for access to TONS of pictures.

Pasties

M had her first pastie this summer. Being of cornish descent this is a grand family tradition.
She has now been inaugurated into a great family tradition.
(This was probably Daddy's best batch ever!)

Shadows

The pavement at the temple made a spectacular canvas for shadow pictures.
Here's our family just weeks before #2 arrived.

Mother's Day

M loves the temple. The week before Mother's Day she kept asking to go. So we took a Sunday drive and walked around the temple grounds. She was super excited. We walked all the way around the building...she's super fast and took off at times. She really liked going up the steps to the big doors on the eastern face.

Daddy's Favorite

This is Daddy's absolute favorite thing! He loves it when babies just snuggle up to him on his shoulder and they fit just right!

Daddy's Solo

Daddy played a solo with the Marine Band at one of their summer concerts. It was so fun to have most of our parents in town. M love the concert but thought it was too loud. (We have since been to more concerts and she sat through one with her hands over her ears the entire time.) Last night we went to another and sat back from the crowd and she didn't have to sit like this too much. The funniest is when you're in a public restroom and she has to plug her ears before you flush because it's "loud".
