Easter & the White House Easter Egg Roll

This Easter we realized just how special of friends we have out here. While we were away from family we were able to have some fun times and special moments.

On Saturday we had a toddler Easter egg hunt with some of our friends with kids. It was M and the Boyz. All are between 13 and 17 months. It was really fun watching them scamper after the eggs and other prizes on the lawn. Then when they discovered the treats inside the eggs they dropped everything to eat. We had to help it along as it started to sprinkle and got pretty chilly. This fun was right after having brunch. Yummy quiche! (By the way, when you bake a quiche in a glass pie pan...parbake the crust! Otherwise it may take twice as long as expected.)

Sunday we enjoyed church services (as well as possible with a pre-Nursery toddler) and took a beautiful walk in our neighborhood. We met one of the owners of the doggie that M affectionately watches.

Monday was the White House Easter Egg Roll. Some friends of ours from the Singles Ward were kind enough to camp out in D.C. Friday night in order to have tickets for those of us with little children. It was so fun. Daddy was playing the job so we got to see him at work too. M was a little to young for most of the activities but she loved walking up and down the lawn, watching people, and picking up trash to put in my bag. (I need to start carrying a bag whenever we go for a walk because she inevitably collects sticks, leaves, and any number of things.) We had some great photo ops and enjoyed the sun. It was supposed to be cold and rainy but the sun eventually came out.

So that's our fun weekend. We hope all is well with you.

Pre-Easter Fun

Our town had a fun little Easter egg hunt the Saturday before Easter week. We took M over. She loved all the eggs on the lawn (we've been practicing opening eggs and putting them in a basket all month). But she didn't collect a ton of them. She'd get excited as the eggs were dropped, run over, grab one and then watch all the other kids as they collected as many as they could. There wasn't anything in them. You just picked up a bunch and took them over to deposit in a box and get a prize. Then as the boxes got filled they run out and drop some more. It was really fun.

Socks

M never really likes socks but one day this week she brought me one of her purple socks to put on her foot. Then she brought the other one...you see where she wanted it.

M's Great Faces

She's becoming very expressive and experimenting with all her different facial muscles. Actually captured some we can post!

My Teeth

We captured M's great grin. And just in time it seems as the front two top teeth seem to be making a slight appearance.
