First Tooth

So it's taken M a bit longer than some to acquire the famed first tooth. We weren't too worried as Mommy didn't get hers until she was 11 and a half months old. I know, I know...that's a long time. They do say though that the longer they take to come in the stronger they are. Let's hope so! Anyway, the discovery of said tooth was quite a surprise. On Wednesday we went in for M's 9 month check-up. The doc was doing the usual check of everything and wanted to see how her teeth were doing. Just as I was telling him she didn't have any yet he says, "There's one". I was confused. "You mean you feel the bump where it's coming, right?" And he says, "No, the tooth." What!? I said in shock and amazement. So I stuffed my finger right in M's mouth and sure enough there was a tooth. I was sort of embarrassed that I, her mother, had no clue! It's not too surprising though...you can still barely see it. Just the tip has pushed through but man can you feel it. Watch out! It's sharp. She's not too keen on letting me put my fingers in her mouth anyway. It usually means I'm trying to fish out a piece of carpet or something else she's found on the floor. And when that happens she closes up tight. Anyway, so that's the story of M's First Tooth.

TWO Papas!!!!

M learned in the last week that she has two papas...ok, Grandpa and Papa! Or at least we hope she gets it. Last weekend Grandpa came to visit and pick up the van. Then this weekend Mommy and M went to see Papa in Philadelphia. It was lots of fun. We went to the mission office of Uncle A's mission and met the office couple there.

Can I just say we have an amazing baby! She slept almost the entire way to and from Philly. Thank goodness because Mommy went alone because Daddy had to work. And we both had a cold so I had no idea what she would do. It's great to be with family!

Halloween Fun

We throughly enjoyed Halloween this year! We carved our pumpkin for our Family Home Evening Activity on Monday and made it spooky. Then we toasted seeds on Tuesday. Wednesday was the main event. We dressed M up to go "trick-or-treating" (a.k.a. going to see friends and show them how cute she is!). Then we went and visited our neighbor. She goes all out on the decorations. Well she had this one spooky witch that made scary noises when you moved. M got totally spooked. Not screaming scared but just very cautious make a sound that made your heart melt. Like an unsure cooing. Even after we moved away from the witch she kept looking around for it. The wind kept making it go off and at one point it was so sweet as M was totally looking for it to make sure it wasn't coming.

Then we went and visited some friends and M played with their blocks. Then to bed with the little bug! Mommy and Daddy finally got to have their dinner of Baked Mummy and Fried Witches Fingers (a.k.a. Chicken Broccolli Braid and Fried Green Beans) It was a very fun day.

And we're all ready for next year. We went the day after and found some sweet decorations significantly reduced...including the scary witch door hanger.
