Phone Girl

I wish you could have heard the conversation she was having. It ranged from everyone like Nanny & Papa to Aunts Sissy & Jenny. I'm sure Dean and Aunt Katie were in there too. It carried on and on. It was hilarious. Then yesterday she talked on the "phone" while we left the house, walked down the stairs, into the car, and all the way to the store. There was, "Yes. Yes. Ah-huh." and everything in between. Too bad when she's on the real phone she usually clams up. (Although yesterday Aunt Ruth had a very interesting conversation so maybe we're getting somewhere.) When she is really talking to someone on the phone though she'll often take it out of my hands walk into her room and close the door. (No she's 2, not 16).

Thirty Weeks

Compared to my fellow pregnant mamas (there are 3 of us in our ward due in May) I barely look pregnant. That's how it always is though. I go wide and they tend to go basketball style. Thankfully, this seems to be easier on the back!

Wish You Could Smell These...

Made these (thanks to the bread machine) to go with some BBQ Beef Brisquet that Daddy made.

Big Helper

M doesn't enjoy the vacuum when Mommy's using it but she usually does want to help. So often, our vacuuming session starts with M getting the brush wand and going around the room picking things up while Mommy does some other chore. When she's done Mommy just finishes up while M hides on the chair in her room reading a book with her blankie. Here she's found a piece of paper or something that she's taking over to the brush and letting the vacuum suck out of her hand.
Look at the super cute all-hair-in-one ponytail!

Cookie Dough Truffles

Mommy had a stake primary leadership meeting this last week and Daddy got to watch M. One way he likes to keep her occupied is to make things in the kitchen. This time they outdid themselves making Cookie Dough Truffles. One of the best parts is that the dough is intended for this application so there's no raw egg or baking soda. There were delightful! M obviously loved them too!

We'd recommend dipping them in milk chocolate as opposed to semi-sweet. They're a bit bitter BUT if you want to do the semi-sweet then we'd recommend serving them with ice cream. Oh, and when you freeze them they don't go rock hard so you can pull them out whenever you're ready for one.

More Daddy Fun!

Last Sunday Daddy & M had a super fun time playing tent and under. Look at the awesome static hair the blanket made. When M plays "under" now she wants you to use your legs to hold up the blanket and make a tent. Well, Daddy's legs were getting tired so he went into the kitchen and got the high chair and barstools and made a real tent.
M LOVED IT!

Peeling Crayons

M must be developing some kind of fine motor skill with this one...one of her favorite past times is not coloring. When I pull the crayons out she starts peeling. It's hysterical. I can actually leave her and she'll concentrate and be quiet for up to 10 minutes (or at least 7). She's also applied the skill to oranges and has become quiet adept. Very interesting to watch.

Blueberries

M LOVES LOVES blueberries. The other day we were sitting at the kitchen counter and she was looking out the window. All of a sudden I hear an excited, "Blueberries on my tree!". I had to explain that they weren't blueberries but the buds of the maple tree's leaves coming out. She still calls them blueberries...

M's View

Ever since she could sit up M loves looking out her window from her crib. The other day she grabbed my camera and ran to the window wanting to take pictures herself. So I figured why not capture some of M's favorite views. There's Nugget the dog's house and the trucks in his driveway. Then the school where the "kids go" and and if you can barely see it...she wanted to capture the green dumpster ("trash can") that frequently has a truck backing up to it and beeping.

It's done!

Last summer I found this pattern for a shirt that I really liked and wanted to attempt to sew for M. It sat cut out on the shelf until just recently when I was inspired by my amazing seamstress of a visting teaching companion to finish it. Now that I've done it once I could probably finish it in about 1.5 hours. Don't know what I was afraid of. This is definitely a skill I want to and feel like I need to learn. Easier to start on smaller kids clothes than bigger ... so I'm giving it a go!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Daddy Time

Daddy has come into his own! With Mommy 7 months pregnant and M wanting to play monster and airplane Daddy is her main man. Thank goodness for daddies. You should see them chase each other around the house trying to scare each other and eat each other. She squeals in delight every time!

Warm Weather & McDonalds

We recently enjoyed one day of beautiful weather. So on the spur of the moment two other mommies and I decided to grab chicken mcnuggets at mc donalds and head to the park for lunch after storytime at the library. the kids had a blast and so did we. wouldn't you know the weather turned the next day just in time to have playgroup inside.

My man in uniform!

Some very good friends recently watched M for us so I could go to one of Daddy's concerts. Hadn't had a picture with the two of us in a while so figured this was a good opportunity. Isn't he handsome?!

Family!

I've decided having family come to town is one of my most favorite things in the whole wide world. My cousin and her husband were in town a few weeks ago and we enjoyed touring and dinner one day. M was thrilled and "Aunt Missy" was soon her favorite person in the whole wide world. Every 30 seconds it was, "Missy" and she'd tell or show her something. Guess she could sense the amazing mommy vibe coming from a recently-rejuvenated-from-extended-vacation-without-children mommy. So much fun!

Liveable - Isn't that Inviting!

When these signs were put in we just had to laugh. I'm so glad our county is considered "liveable" it'd be sad if it wasn't. Makes you want to come live here doesn't it? I can't believe taxpayer money was spent and that such a phrase was agreed upon!
