Is he a puppy?
So don't leave anything on the ground or he'll eat it. And if he finds a puddle of water or something he put his mouth to the floors and slurps it up. Gross! That's my boy.

Family Visit

I love it when family comes to visit. My cousin was out for a volleyball tournament. We got to spend about 24 hours together. It was super fun to visit with her and get to know her a little better. And she had a ton of fun with my kids. We took a late night tour of the city so we were pretty tired but it was well worth it.
the Easter Parade

The Saturday before Easter our town holds an "Easter Parade". (Key Easter Parade music). Turns out the parade is all the people walking down the boardwalk to the beach where local vendors handed out treats. The Kettle Korn was AMAZING. We had fun and the day was gorgeous. AND we discovered a little known boardwalk and fun beach area close to our home.
the Daffodil Experiment

So you know how the veins in celery will transport dye in water up the ribs. Well turns out that daffodils do a similar trick. Our neighbor told us about it so we gave it a try. Unlike roses or carnations, daffodils only put the water at the tips so it's a neat patter on the very edges of the flowers that turns up after being in the dye for 24 hours.

My Favorite Easter Decoration
Our Deck
I love our deck. It's like an extension of the house, only outside where the kids want to be. I can see the merit of the screen door we will one day have on our sliding glass door as I feel more secure with them out there if I can hear them. So needless to say I'm grateful the bugs aren't in full swing yet (they're getting there) as we had the door open for hours this week as the kids came in out and enjoyed their time in the sun. F LOVES LOVES LOVES being outside. To the point that if the door is closed he crawls over to it and makes a fit. M also enjoyed having her easel outside. Mommy's enjoyed it all as the mess they make outside doesn't have to be cleaned up quite like the messes inside. We've hung the laundry (hopefully cutting down on our electrical bill) and eaten out there. It's been gorgeous!
Our Tulip Tree

Evidently it's a type of magnolia tree but I've adored tulip trees since I moved to the east coast. I was so pleased when I realized the "horns" (see previous post) M had spotted on our tree turned out to be these gorgeous "tulips". I'll post more pictures of the whole tree but they're so pretty. Perfect for easter. This is me with my babies on Easter under our blooming tulip tree. Spring is definitely here.
Daddy Fun
M & Daddy had lots of fun this weekend. Daddy's been wanting to go camping. So Friday night we set up the tent and they had a campout. We were all going to camp out but our huge tent is too big for the area we have in the backyard. So just Daddy and M got to sleep out. (darn ;)) I was sure M wouldn't settle down but after roasting marshmallows and going to bed late she rolled over and went to sleep. Daddy on the other hand got a little cold on his head and couldn't sleep. So he laid there most of the night thinking about it and didn't sleep much. Mommy slept in the temperpedic wonderfulness and didn't even notice a thing until 7AM.
The chocolate monster face is the result of making these. If you like chocolate (and I mean really like it ... and on the semi-dark side) you must try these. They're amazing but not for the faint of heart.
