Cheese!

This morning M was playing with her toy nativity. She put Mary in the horse cart and was pushing her around. All of a sudden she said, "Cheese!" like she was posing for a picture. I asked her where the camera was and she pointed to the three wise men's camel.

It's Logical of Course...

We had someone over trying out a tuba we're selling. He was playing the tuba when Daddy went in to rescue M from her nap. She looked at Daddy and said, "Mommy tuba." It's only logical of course that if someone is playing the tuba and I'm looking at Daddy that it must be Mommy. Of course!

Happy Birthday #2

Here is the link to ALL the pictures of M's big day. Be sure to read the captions as they catch the fun little moments we had. What a fun day! She was so excited about her "Happy Birthday". We tried to do as many of her favorites as possible. So Daddy made her waffles with strawberries and whipped topping for breakfast. Mommy took her to the library. She had deviled eggs for lunch. She got to take a shower! AND Heavenly Father blessed us with a day that wasn't in the teens so we could actually go OUTSIDE (one of her favorite places) and she got to try out her new bike. She loved it. We made pizza dough and had her favorite people over for a dinner party. Recently, she's been building "birthday cakes" out of her stacking blocks. So we made her a tiered cake. Daddy did everything but the piping and I had fun doing that. A fantastically fun time.

A Family Tradition

When I was a child each Christmas we would get to gether with my cousins for a party. And each and every year my uncle would read us Dr. Seuss's "How the Grinch Stole Christmas". It is one of my favorite stories (not the Jim Carrey version mind you). My favorite version can only be done in my uncle's voices and as I found Daddy reading it to M one night after dinner I could even hear my uncle in my head saying, "Cindy Lou Who, who was no more than two."... and then my favorite was re-hearing my uncle (in my head) saying, "Santy Claus, why? why?...." You know the rest. Aren't memories precious and special. I'm grateful for a happy childhood with precious memories like these. Hopefully we're carrying on that family tradition too.

Ssss....Snakes!

One day we heard M in her high chair saying, "sssss...snakes". (Yes, she knows what they say). And we couldn't figure out what she was doing. So I go over and low and behold she was saying this each time she cut a soggy cheerio out and spread it on her tray. She was making tiny little snakes and thrilling in her creation. It was so precious. When I get the video I'll upload it too.

Miss Claus

M got the cutest little Santa outfit from one of her Grandma's who "couldn't resist". She loved wearing it. Here you see her prepared with her purse (an absolute necessity) to go to Tuba Christmas.

Christmas Treats

With being out of town and the fact that our main computer doesn't have internet access right now I'm a bit behind on blogging. Figured I'd try and capture some of our holiday memories a bit at a time. We love making treat plates for our friends. Last year we discovered candy making and have made it a permenant tradition. Here you see our peanut brittle and english toffee (thank Uncle Greg!)...along with the final product. I actually had the baking done by the end of the first week of December as we were basically moving out so our floors could be refinished. So needless to say, we're not a candy factory but we dabble in the process.
Sure is fun!

Where Do They Learn This?

This evening M's cousin had a birthday party and got a bike. M was trying it out and we noticed that every time she backed up she went "beep, beep, beep" just like big trucks do in the real world. How did she know that????!!!
