First Tooth

So it's taken M a bit longer than some to acquire the famed first tooth. We weren't too worried as Mommy didn't get hers until she was 11 and a half months old. I know, I know...that's a long time. They do say though that the longer they take to come in the stronger they are. Let's hope so! Anyway, the discovery of said tooth was quite a surprise. On Wednesday we went in for M's 9 month check-up. The doc was doing the usual check of everything and wanted to see how her teeth were doing. Just as I was telling him she didn't have any yet he says, "There's one". I was confused. "You mean you feel the bump where it's coming, right?" And he says, "No, the tooth." What!? I said in shock and amazement. So I stuffed my finger right in M's mouth and sure enough there was a tooth. I was sort of embarrassed that I, her mother, had no clue! It's not too surprising though...you can still barely see it. Just the tip has pushed through but man can you feel it. Watch out! It's sharp. She's not too keen on letting me put my fingers in her mouth anyway. It usually means I'm trying to fish out a piece of carpet or something else she's found on the floor. And when that happens she closes up tight. Anyway, so that's the story of M's First Tooth.

That also explains the slight fever last week in Vally Forge.
