Doggie
So M has a fascination with doggies. We taught her the sign for dog (which is patting your thigh like you're calling a dog). Now whenever she hears the neighbor's dog...which is very frequently as he likes to bark at everyone who walks by and his fence is along the route the kids walk to school every morning...she pats her leg or tummy or chest...whatever's convenient at the time. It's so cute. The last few days she's also started desiring to see or hear the dog so when she wants this is pats her leg. We've taken to looking out the window to see if we can see the dog. Or going out on the porch steps so she can see if he's there. We were outside taking the Christmas lights down yesterday and she stood on the sidewalk in our yard the whole time watching the dog and periodically tapping her leg. It's so cute. And it's fun to see she's taken an interest in something and is communicating that interest. The window by her crib looks out at the dog's yard so frequently I'll find her after a nap or first thing in the morning looking out the window to see the dog. She'll look out the window, then look at me and tap her leg and go back to the window. I know she'd have fun with one of her own but not right now. Someday I'm sure we'll have that boston terrier but for now our house is too small and our yard way to dangerous if he got out.
