Easter & the White House Easter Egg Roll

This Easter we realized just how special of friends we have out here. While we were away from family we were able to have some fun times and special moments.

On Saturday we had a toddler Easter egg hunt with some of our friends with kids. It was M and the Boyz. All are between 13 and 17 months. It was really fun watching them scamper after the eggs and other prizes on the lawn. Then when they discovered the treats inside the eggs they dropped everything to eat. We had to help it along as it started to sprinkle and got pretty chilly. This fun was right after having brunch. Yummy quiche! (By the way, when you bake a quiche in a glass pie pan...parbake the crust! Otherwise it may take twice as long as expected.)

Sunday we enjoyed church services (as well as possible with a pre-Nursery toddler) and took a beautiful walk in our neighborhood. We met one of the owners of the doggie that M affectionately watches.

Monday was the White House Easter Egg Roll. Some friends of ours from the Singles Ward were kind enough to camp out in D.C. Friday night in order to have tickets for those of us with little children. It was so fun. Daddy was playing the job so we got to see him at work too. M was a little to young for most of the activities but she loved walking up and down the lawn, watching people, and picking up trash to put in my bag. (I need to start carrying a bag whenever we go for a walk because she inevitably collects sticks, leaves, and any number of things.) We had some great photo ops and enjoyed the sun. It was supposed to be cold and rainy but the sun eventually came out.

So that's our fun weekend. We hope all is well with you.
